Sooo...someone tried to steal my account?

I got a message from Newgrounds.com today, telling me my username and password as I had apparently requested.

I found this interesting as I know my password and don't need anyone to tell me what it is.

As I pondered the implications of someone trying to take my account in this way, I couldn't help but think to myself:

"What were they thinking?"

I mean, sure, I can request the password to be sent to me if I forget it, which I never do, but it still would get SENT TO ME. Unless you also know both my email address AND THE PASSWORD to my email address, you're not going to get anything out of this. Did they really think that they could steal my account simply by filling out the forgot password form? Seriously?

And anyway, what would be the point of stealing my account? Pretending to be me is not that exciting. Claiming credit for my work is not something anyone with even moderate intelligence would do. What, do you want to use my voting power to nuke your least favourite flashes into oblivion?

Seriously, whoever you are, trying to steal accounts in this manner is RETARDED. And you are a fucking retard.

It could be a mistake, I've never used the forget password feature here but someone could have misspelled either their username or e-mail and just happens to be yours. Though it's more likely someone trying to figure out how to hack a username or someone just fuckin' with you.

I took someones account on WoW once with fake password login link, I felt like an asshole afterwards, but yeah you cant keep their account because they are gonna get the email for request change :P
